Den sorte Hætte

William Augustinus, 1911

Sherlock Holmes is hired to locate a husband abducted by “The Black Hood".

The preserved material is roughly complete. Since the film survives from a worn copy, there are a few unintentional jump cuts and other damages.

Telegramtyvene

Ernst Munkeboe, 1911

FRAGMENT | When it’s discovered that Fanny, a poor cigar worker, is frequenting the quarters of the manufacturer’s rich son, she’s banished from both home and work. All hope seems to be lost for Fanny, but her luck turns when she’s hired as a cigar roller at a cigar shop – or that’s what she thinks. It quickly transpires that the “cigar shop” is merely a cover for shadier affairs.

Gorki

Ubekendt, 1912

Hjalmar leads a double life; during the day, he is a clerk at his father’s bank while at night, he leads a notorious gang known as “Heldet” (Fortune). The purpose is to pay for his prodigious womanising and gambling. When “Heldet” knocks over his own bank, Hjalmar distracts the guard while the rest of the gang cleans out the vault, then he calls the police to allay any suspicion.

Nattens Datter IV

Kay van der Aa Kühle, 1917

But help is on its way: Her assistant ties a string with a piece of coal and paper to a snake's tale and sends the glistening predator up the drainpipe to the prison window. The Daughter of Darkness informs her helper about the time and place for her imminent transferral to another prison, and when the plans work out, the underground mastermind is off to new adventures.

Rovedderkoppen

August Blom, 1916
