Under Savklingens Tænder

Holger-Madsen, 1913

The usurer Sintram lives and breathes for money and, for this very reason; he disinherits his charitable son Floridan. Embittered, Sintram buries his fortune in the forest and hides a will in a beech tree, with his estate left to anyone who finds it. This act is the only hard physical work the old usurer has done in his life and, ironically, the exhaustion kills him.

Kærlighed og Overtro

Lau Lauritzen Sr., 1920

When head clerk Wange sets out to propose to the love of his life, Julie, he is rejected on the grounds that he is too staid and earthbound for her. Grev Dahlborgs Hemmelighed

Eduard Schnedler-Sørensen, 1914

FRAGMENT | These recordings were part of Valdemar Psilander’s live performance at the Royal Orfeum in Budapest, in February and March 1914. Psilander financed the show himself, and it was a mixture of film and theatre under the title Count Dahlborg’s Secret. The film footage, which unfortunately hasn’t been preserved in its entirety, opened the performance, after which Psilander himself rode onto the stage and continued the action.

In a cruel twist of fate, the child that Bloomer abandoned turns out to be the very same young man he must now sentence to death.
