FRAGMENT | Criminal detective Oliver Svift and his assistant Henry Mill embark on something of a hair-raising adventure as they take on the task of helping Kitty Williams. She has rented out her late father’s carpentry workshop to a gentleman who suddenly appears to have a hidden agenda. Svift and Mill set about finding out if there’s anything untoward going on.

Count Dörner and his son-in-law Baron Max are hunting in the forest when they come upon Zambo and Satanita, who are Roma travellers. Dörner and Max are so captivated by the eccentric Satanita that they decide to take her to their estate. It quickly becomes clear that Satanita prefers the young baron to the old count, although the latter still makes a spirited attempt to force some affection from her.

In Iceland, the pride and honour of one’s family mean everything. Ørlygur á Borg is the most powerful man in the parish, and his son Ormarr is a man of action with a firm sense of justice, predestined to follow in his father’s footsteps. However, Ormarr has other plans for his life, and when one day he sets out for Copenhagen to study, his tyrannical brother takes advantage of the situation, seizing the farm and the role of ruler in the parish.
