Under Skæbnens Hjul

Holger-Madsen, 1914

MOST WANTED | Betty Nansen was the greatest diva of Danish theatre at the time, and it was quite a feather in the cap for the Nordisk Film studio and its founder, Ole Olsen, when he landed a contract with her in 1913. However, Nansen never truly conquered the medium of film the way that a certain Asta Nielsen did; around this time, ‘Die Asta’ had just set out for Germany. 'For the Sake of A Man', in which Nansen plays alongside one of the greatest male Danish stars of the theatre, Poul Reumert, is among the now-lost Betty Nansen films.

The love triangle drama reaches its climax when de Bersin asks the princess for help to escape and is then sentenced to death by Bouton.
