Ubekendt, 1918

‘Go to Bessie immediately; you will be safe there,’ reads the farewell letter that Sonja finds in her father’s home after it has been robbed. Prominent inventor Lucius Lindner has taken his own life to escape ‘The Black Ravens’, a gang of which he was once a member himself. He leaves Sonja the secret formula for his excelsior rays, an invention which the criminal gang is eager to get their hands on.

Blandt Byens Børn

The rental barracks ‘The Seventh Heaven’ is a small world in itself. Strong Ole, Red Lotte and Lise Holm, who works at the chocolate factory, live here. In a tiny room up under the attic the two tramps reside.

Under Skæbnens Hjul

Holger-Madsen, 1914

MOST WANTED | Betty Nansen was the greatest diva of Danish theatre at the time, and it was quite a feather in the cap for the Nordisk Film studio and its founder, Ole Olsen, when he landed a contract with her in 1913. However, Nansen never truly conquered the medium of film the way that a certain Asta Nielsen did; around this time, ‘Die Asta’ had just set out for Germany. 'For the Sake of A Man', in which Nansen plays alongside one of the greatest male Danish stars of the theatre, Poul Reumert, is among the now-lost Betty Nansen films.

Dødsvarslet

Aage Brandt, 1912

Laurent, a painter, observes the performance of the dancer Marguerite and immediately feels drawn to her beauty and being. He invites her to his studio and the two fall in love. Unfortunately, Marguerite is already married to Stelio, who soon finds out about the affair.

Kokain-Rusen

Carl Alstrup, 1925

FRAGMENT | The eccentric Tom Nigel strolls through Copenhagen. Psychedelic dreams and grotesque coincidences propel him from one insane situation to the next. Via a personal ad he never submitted, he meets a mysterious woman with giant teeth and cannot get rid of her again.

Atlantis

August Blom, 1913

With his wife admitted to a mental hospital and his academic career beset on all sides, Doctor von Kammacher goes abroad to regain his strength and his joy of life. On the trip, he meets two very different women, one of whom will decide his fate.

Due to a technical error a brief sequence in the middle of the film is missing.

Don Quixote

Lau Lauritzen Sr., 1926

The purpose is to pay for his prodigious womanising and gambling. When “Heldet” knocks over his own bank, Hjalmar distracts the guard while the rest of the gang cleans out the vault, then he calls the police to allay any suspicion.

Emanuel Gregers, 1922

One day, the gap between the couple becomes too wide – Naomi, who is a passionate violinist, skips town, leaving him alone with their daughter.
