Having responded to a newspaper advertisement, a young girl sets out to take up a position as a housekeeper. Not long after arriving, it transpires that she has fallen into the clutches of the white slave trade. The house is in fact a brothel, and its lecherous clients are queuing up to get a piece of the new girl.

A bear tamer is hired by a traveling circus and soon gets married to a snake charmer. Not long after the wedding, the snake charmer gets involved in a variety show, and to the bear tamer’s horror, one evening he watches how she’s seduced by a rich man who takes her home.
Luckily, he has a furry, faithful squire who’s always ready to step in.

FRAGMENT | Once again, the Daughter of Darkness has been put behind bars for yet another one of her infamous crimes. But help is on its way: Her assistant ties a string with a piece of coal and paper to a snake's tale and sends the glistening predator up the drainpipe to the prison window. The Daughter of Darkness informs her helper about the time and place for her imminent transferral to another prison, and when the plans work out, the underground mastermind is off to new adventures.

A tightrope walker from a traveling circus falls deeply in love with the mayor's daughter in a small seaside town. When he saves her from a deadly fire, his feelings are reciprocated by the young woman, who immediately accepts his marriage proposal. To spite the mayor's disapproval of the liaison between his daughter and the poor artist, the tightrope walker prepares a sensational but dangerous act, that will make him worthy of his bride.
