The film is based on the true story of the Danish-Norwegian sea hero Peter Wessel Tordenskiold’s exploits during the Great Northern War of 1709 to 1720. The action is composed of a number of significant events, such as the departure with the frigate Løvendals Galej in 1912, the Battle of Colberghejde in 1715, Tordenskiold’s elevation to nobility in 1916 and his death in 1920. In addition, the director has built a love story around the photograph of a Miss Norris that Tordenskiold carried in his breast pocket when he died.

While the supple model is about to undress in front of the embarrassed professor, the dumbfounded nurse wonders if the groping croquis-artist is actually a psychiatric patient. The film has German intertitles with Danish subtitles.
