When her husband, an aspiring poet, gets his theatrical script rejected, Agnes Holck decides to take matters into her own hands. With the script in hand, she seeks out theatre director Viggo Reyner who takes an interest – not in the play, but in Agnes herself! However, his former favourite actress Lily Werner, doesn’t like being ignored. While the director is working on the seduction of Agnes, she cooks up some sinister revenge plans with fatal consequences.

Goethe’s Faust myth makes an appearance in this drama about a dispute between two scientists. When Doctor Voluntas discovers that his rival, the virtuous Doctor Felix, is about to overtake him in the preparation of a serum for cancer, he decides to lure the good doctor into corruption. An innocent woman, Margaret, is reeled in as a decoy and it works! Doctor Felix soon forgets both about his work and himself, while the devil stands ready to take possession of his soul.

The artists at a popular variety show are in an uproar when dancer Sylvia Lafont’s dance partner Enric falls seriously ill. If they are to perform the famous vampire dance, they must find a substitute in a hurry. An ad in the newspaper prompts a number of hopeful applicants to come to the theatre, and Sylvia is quick to make her decision: she chooses Oscar, a taciturn but handsome young man.

The bride and groom protest, grumble and cry, but Ane won’t stop until she has done as she has been ordered!

‘A Wedding Night’ is a film adaptation of ‘Et Lystspil i en Akt’ by Peter Nansen, which was first published in the magazine ‘Af Dagens Krønike’ in October 1889.

Unfortunately, no measures can prevent an inside job, as the hypnotised countess has her own key to the safe.

Alice’s heart starts pounding when her childhood friend Otto announces his return home after a long journey. Alice has long loved Otto, but a problem arises: a far wealthier and better-dressed rival also spots an opportunity to present herself as a good match. Alas! Poor Alice has neither the wealth nor the clothes to match such a suitress.
