Four soldiers are passing away time when one, looking through the window, spies a pretty girl sitting on a veranda on the opposite side of the street. Naturally, the cards are left, and the four are soon crowding the window, each vying for the girl's attention, much to her amusement. Even their officer, who enters the room to scold them, is soon absorbed in making eyes at the charming creature.

A young man, crazy about motorcycles, buys an Ellehammer and drives it out of the store at wild speed. During his unruly driving, he knocks over several people, all of whom set out to chase him.This short film is a popular and time-typical example of the so-called “pursuit farce”, or “running farce”, as the genre was called by the film’s director Viggo Larsen.

FRAGMENT | When it’s discovered that Fanny, a poor cigar worker, is frequenting the quarters of the manufacturer’s rich son, she’s banished from both home and work. All hope seems to be lost for Fanny, but her luck turns when she’s hired as a cigar roller at a cigar shop – or that’s what she thinks. It quickly transpires that the “cigar shop” is merely a cover for shadier affairs.

Even on his own birthday he cannot get a word in edgewise, and when some friends invite him out for the evening, his wife takes the key to the front door so he cannot get out. Later that night, the henpecked husband seizes an opportunity to escape, but when he finally returns home he is in for a nasty surprise.
