Efter hemmelig ordre eller den er pingeling

Robert Storm Petersen, 1927

A short, fragmentary film comprising a brief animation sequence and live-action footage of Storm P in the Zoo. If one were to piece together a synopsis, it seems as if Storm P is given the task – by secret order – to draw the penguins in the Zoo. Using real penguins as models, he draws his well-known cartoon character Ping from the ‘Peter and Ping’, and the drawing is subsequently delivered to the person who commissioned it via a messenger dog.

Kys, Klap og Kommers

Lau Lauritzen Sr., 1929

The long arm of the law is utterly powerless against the unusually cunning criminal Terry and his gang. Master detective Sherlock Holmes is on the case, but he might need some assistance. Pat and Patachon, who deals magazines in a small kiosk, get involved in the case by accident and ironically solves it by accident as well.

Pas paa Pigerne

Lau Lauritzen Sr., 1930

On a high-speed train heading towards the capital, Director Brown’s two young daughters become acquainted with Pat and Patachon. The two friends are in search of work, and when it turns out that they’re headed towards Director Brown’s company, the Brown daughters immediately promise to put in a good word for their two new friends. However, the director receives Pat and Patachon with much suspicion, and they must undergo many trials and a thrilling ride in a motorboat before they succeed in making a good impression on the director.

Kraft og Skønhed

Lau Lauritzen Sr., 1928

Although the twins Flora and Dora attend the School of Sculpture, their real calling lies in gymnastics. They decide to open an “Institute of Strength and Beauty”, which does not go down well with Uncle Brown, who finances their numerous business adventures. When he announces his arrival in town and demands to see the results from the School of Sculpture, they find themselves in a predicament.

Højt paa en Kvist

Lau Lauritzen Sr., 1929

Pat and Patachon live in the attic of an old house along with a number of other curious kinds of people. One of the residents is a fortune teller, who tells Patachon that he will inherit a fortune and marry one of the two sweet choir girls who live next door, and whom he happens to be in love with. The two friends don’t think much more of it and instead head off to work, as models for a tailor.

Urban Gad, 1926

Peder Tordenskjold

Ernst Munkeboe, 1910

The film is based on the true story of the Danish-Norwegian sea hero Peter Wessel Tordenskiold’s exploits during the Great Northern War of 1709 to 1720. The action is composed of a number of significant events, such as the departure with the frigate Løvendals Galej in 1912, the Battle of Colberghejde in 1715, Tordenskiold’s elevation to nobility in 1916 and his death in 1920.
In addition, the director has built a love story around the photograph of a Miss Norris that Tordenskiold carried in his breast pocket when he died.

Frederik Buch som Soldat

Christian Schrøder, 1913
